  We live in the Hilton Head area and have lots of restaurants to choose from but we keep going back to Poseidon. The food is fresh, always good, and service and atmosphere has always been excellent. The menu is diverse so there is something for everyone. Prices are reasonable for the area. We usually choose lunch time or early evening to avoid the large crowds and long wait. The Poseidon is part of four restaurants/bars in one complex. The Nautibar (outside with food) the Poseidon (inside dining), The Raw Bar (we've never tried) and the Rooftop Bar (only open in the evenings but does serve food). This and Wiseguys are our favorite restaurants on Hilton Head Island.

  The food was really good. Oysters were fresh and the shrimp and grits were delicious *let it be noted that I'm from Louisiana, so I am a seafood fanatic and critique*. My favorite meal is Shrimp and grits and I have actually never had it with a tomatoe sauce and sausage. It was really great. While it wasn't spicy-hot, the blend of spices was beautifully done. The flavor combination was so satisfying. It was really delicious. The only reason I give I this place four stars is because the service was sub par. There were more than two times for sure that my water was completely empty and I was pretty thirsty so it bothered me more than usual. The bread basket was really delicious. The butter was so good.

  My friend and I had the best seafood ever!! I had the Seafood Bounty and he had the New England Casserole. ...They gave me this giant plate with lots of the Seafood the plate comes with and it was to die for!!!! My friend's plate was also to die for the Scallops melt in your mouth...I had done lot's of traveling and eating in great places, but this was far the BEST seafood EVER! !! We also had the Reuben Fritters and hush puppies and were also delicious! Service Outstanding, even though we decide to sit at the bar and not wait for a table..We strongly recommend it if you come visit!!!!
